Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta regards Liverpool as a Champions League contender this season.

The Reds have stumbled into the round of 16. but Vissel Kobe ace Iniesta has been impressed.

Iniesta was then asked if he felt Manchester City or PSG's financial power will see them be Barca's main rivals.

"It's difficult to think that some day they won't come close in the Champions League," he told Sport. "The teams they have, their squads, the investments, the coaches... they should be fighting for the trophy.

"I always want to add Liverpool, who are looking good this year. The problem with the Champions League is that it's a really tough tournament.

"One bad day can knock you out."
