Barcelona have joined Arsenal's interest in free agent Malang Sarr.

Sarr is available after coming off contract at Nice.

Sport says sporting director Eric Abidal has already made contact with Sarr's representatives and informed them of Barcelona's interest.

The Frenchman is believed to have a significant number of offers from around Europe though, including Italian side Torino and Arsenal with manager Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen his back line.

Sarr, who is left-footed, made 119 appearances for Nice and impressed in Ligue 1 but could not come to terms on a new deal.

Reports last month claimed Arsenal had also made contact with Sarr's agent to express their interest but are yet to table a formal offer amid uncertainty over their financial situation.
