Luis Enrique is a step away from taking the AS Roma job.
The Spaniard formally resigned from his job with Barcelona B this week.
Corriere dello Sport says Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini met Luis Enrique's representative in Milan yesterday to thrash out a deal.
Sabatini is understood to have offered the now former Barcelona B team tactician a 24-month agreement, with an option for 2013-14.
The former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Spanish international midfielder will net 1.5m a campaign should he accept.
His appointment could be made official by Monday.
