Barcelona are holding talks with Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante as his contract runs down.

Sport says Barça have been keeping a close eye on the situation for months because they like the midfielder, but they are still awaiting to see his physical recovery after injury, and no decision has been taken.

The Blaugrana sports department have been talking to Kante to find out his intentions and to convey an interest without reaching any kind of agreement.

His name is particularly popular among the club's sporting executives, but his physical condition could be a concern.

Kante has a hamstring problem and has been out of action almost since the end of August, so there are many doubts about his future performance.

He has not yet been able to make his comeback, although he is expected to play in February.
