Barcelona fullback Nelson Semedo says they deserved their 1-0 win at Champions League opponents Manchester United.

An early own goal from Luke Shaw gave Barça the lead but they were unable to build on their advantage and had to settle for a narrow win in the end.

"The second leg is a very important game and the results is a good one," Semedo said ahead of next Tuesday's return match at Camp Nou.

United came from behind to knock Paris Saint-Germain out in the last round but that doesn't concern Semedo: "That doesn't worry us, because it shows they're a good team, but they will face an even stronger team, which is us.

"We did well against United tonight and we have to be at our best in every game. They can be dangerous on the break and we've done well in defence.

"Now we have to keep working hard to improve and be ready for every match. We go out to win every time and we always want to win."
