Barcelona failed to include one homegrown player for the first time in 16 years last night.

For the draw with Celta Vigo, Barca coach Ernesto Valverde did not select any La Masia graduates for his starting XI. A team sheet not seen since Carles Rexach was in charge in 2002.

Denis Suarez did start the game, but he learned his football at Celta Vigo.

Valverde's starting XI was: Ter Stegen, Semedo, Vermaelen, Yerry Mina, Digne, André Gomes, Paulinho, Denis Suárez, Coutinho, Dembélé and Alcácer

Meanwhile, Rexach's XI which played at Athletic Bilbao in 2002 was: Bonano, Reiziger, Christanval, Abelardo, Coco, Rochemback, Cocu, Luis Enrique, Rivaldo, Saviola and Overmars
