Barcelona director Rousaud: I won't resign; Bartomeu called me about leaks

Barcelona director Emili Rousaud insists he won't consider resigning.

It was suggested in the Madrid press yesterday that president Josep Maria Bartomeu will demand Rousand's resignation once the coronavirus suspension is over. Along with Rousand, three other chiefs will be pushed to walk away.

"I wake up every day with a very clear conscience. I associate this with being very critical of Barçagate," Rousand told Mundo Deportivo, referring to the I3Ventures scandal.

"Bartomeu called me and said he wanted to do a remodel on the board and had misgivings with some managers, including me. He told me that there were leaks that bothered players and that he questioned the executives' work.

"According to the statutes he can demote me, and he will, I will stop being vice president and I will become a member, but as an elected official, he cannot expel me.

"I have not made a decision to resign or not. Right now I have no predisposition to do it. I understand that this is not the time to raise it, in full confinement or in the middle of Easter, I consider this not good form."
