Barcelona director Ramon Planes is wanted by Real Betis.

El Desmarque says Betis have not given up on bringing Barcelona's Planes to the club to oversee their sporting department.

They have renewed their attempts to bring in Eric Abidal's No.2 this week as they search for a new sporting director.

The Seville-based side want to completely re-model things behind the season, bringing someone in to take charge of ins and outs, an area which has not been clear since the departure of Serra Ferrer.

This week's contact is not new as they also approached Planes, contracted to Barca until 2021, in January and the interest has been constant since then. However, with coach Rubi sacked this week, they're now looking to get their new structure in place from top to bottom.
