Barcelona defender Pique slams Bartomeu: We never saw him

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has taken aim at former president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Pique says one of his complaints about Bartomeu was he didn't like to get his hands dirty.

He explained to streamer Ibai Llanos: "It was a difficult situation. A president has to try to manage the club when problems arise, you have to be there to solve it and make decisions even if people don't like them.

"When you run away, you don't show up and you delegate mountains are made.

"You have to grab the bull by the horns. There were specific moments that needed a little more leadership and to show up. More than once I told him to go to the locker room and he didn't show up."

Pique continued: "Florentino Pérez (Real Madrid president) is showing very good management. It shows that the president should be the leader and the one in charge. You may like the decisions or not, but he is a person who has a gift of command."
