Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo's complaints after victory at Real Madrid last night. Ronaldo slammed the refereeing for the 4-3 El Clasico defeat.
But former Manchester United teammate Pique insisted: "We are in a country where these things are always highlighted, in which the two teams have played a great game, but we speak about the referee and his decisions.
"It is very unfair to the sport, to the world of football, because I think people have enjoyed this game a lot.
"We must not base everything on this. If we start talking play by play, then Cristiano is not a penalty, it is not a foul. There are many decisions made in split seconds.
"Nothing has influenced the outcome.
"We have so much quality, world class players. We won this game on merit."
