Barcelona defender Gerard Pique admits they weren't at their best for victory over Real Valladolid.
The win was achieved thanks to a penalty from Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou on Saturday night.
"We have not played well and we were not the team that we wanted to be but the good thing is that we won the game," he said.
"But the sensations were not good and we have to improve and be better or we will have a bad time on Tuesday (against Lyon).
"We lacked fluidity and we did not move the ball quickly and have possession or dominate the game and create chances."
Although there was some controversy over the award of the penalty kick for a foul on Pique, he was adamant that the referee made the right decision.
"I was touched from behind and it destabilised me," he added.
"He got me by the shoulder and it was a penalty.
"There was enough contact for me to fall."
