Barcelona defender Gerard Pique took a swipe at Italian football online yesterday.

Pique was responding to former Barca teammate Arturo Vidal as he celebrated winning the Scudetto with Inter Milan.

Vidal posted: "Many years many fellow great clubs and many fans, grateful to each of those who have accompanied me in each achievement. And I know that there is still a lot of story to tell ... we are going for more."

Piqué, who at that time was at the bbq organised at Lionel Messi's house, fired a barb to his former teammate: "If you play against the lame ... the Champions League, by when?"
