Barcelona defender Eric Garcia upbeat on Pique making Eintracht Frankfurt clash

Barcelona players are hopeful of Gerard Pique will make their Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Barca host Eintracht Frankfurt tonight in the second-leg of their quarterfinal with the score locked at 1-1.

Eric Garcia was asked about Pique, who has been named in the squad for the game but has not yet been passed fit to take part.

Garcia hopes the ex-Spain international will be available because of his importance: "He's trained today with the team so we will see [on Thursday]

"I hope he is with us. He is one of the best central defenders ever and brings a lot to the team on and off the pitch."

The former Manchester City further praised his teammate, although he wouldn't comment on the possibility of him returning to the Spain squad.

"First of all, I have always been a Barça fan, so to watch him play to now share a pitch with him is incredible for me," Garcia added.

"As for the national team, I don't know, that's a question for him."
