Barcelona consider move for Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne

Barcelona are eyeing Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne.

SportItalia says the Italy international's current deal with Napoli runs until 2022 and the 30-year-old has yet to renew his contract with his boyhood club.

Barcelona could be interested in signing Insigne this summer, as Napoli would be willing to avoid losing him on a free next summer should he not extend his deal.

Insigne has attracted interest from more European clubs, but he will wait until the end of the 2020 European Championship to hear offers, as his salary demands could rise should he stand out at the tournament.

The Napoli forward has scored 109 goals in 397 official matches for the Partenopei, including a goal at the Camp Nou in Barcelona's 3-1 victory last August.
