Barcelona confirm receiving signatures for motion of no confidence against Bartomeu

Barcelona have confirmed receiving signatures backing the motion of no confidence filed against president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

The motion received 20,687 signatures in total, according to the club.

In a statement, Barcelona set out a timeline of the events that will now follow.

"Once a vote of censure board has been set up, it must, within a maximum period of 10 working days, verify that the application meets the requirements to which it is subject and, in particular, that it has the appropriate backing and support of a sufficient number of members or delegates," reads the statement.

"The board may invalidate any ballot papers that are not sufficiently accredited and may make whatever inquiries are necessary in order to ascertain their authenticity.

"If all the requirements have been met, the application will be declared valid and the Barcelona board of directors shall be obliged to convene a vote, which shall be held within a period of not less than 10 working days and not more than 20.

"If all the requirements have not been met, the application for a vote of censure shall be rejected."
