Barcelona coach Valverde delighted with title triumph: Proud to see fans happy

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is delighted to have secured the LaLiga title.

Barcelona claimed another LaLiga Santander title on Saturday as they beat Levante 1-0 at the Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi was originally rested for the game, but he ended up being the match-winner on the day.

"Winning the title with this distance, against these competitors, is difficult," Valverde said.

"It's also hard to do it two years in a row.

"We're happy, and seeing people enjoy it gives us all pride."

Messi came on and made the difference for the Catalans, having been rested ahead of the upcoming game against Liverpool.

"It was clear that he had to play," Valverde explained.

"We have a game on Wednesday and we have to be active.

"I knew he'd come on at half time, and he came on and scored because he can score from anywhere."
