Barcelona coach Setien ready to face former club Real Betis

Barcelona coach Quique Setien is looking forward to facing former club Real Betis today.

Setien, 61, spent two years at Betis. He left the club at the end of last season and remained out of work until he took over at Camp Nou in January.

"I had two wonderful years at Betis," he said. "I have nothing but words of gratitude for the club. I grew there professionally and as a person."

Setien's spell included wins over Barça and Real Madrid but the relationship with sections of the support soured at the end. Despite that, he has happy memories of his time in Seville.

He added: "Many people may think that the last few months were tough, but that is completely forgotten. I remember the day-to-day being extraordinary, the number of friends I have there, how happy I was during those two years, the success we had at certain moments, how brave we were, all those things.

"It's true the final months, from the outside, seemed tough, but I have no regrets or hard feelings at all. I understand the criticism, people think we could have done better, and I accept that, but I left satisfied because I know what the situation was at Betis when I arrived and what it was when I left."
