Barcelona coach Quique Setien insists Carlos Perez's departure for Roma was a "mutual decision".

Perez's move is due to be confirmed in the coming hours.

Setien said, "It was a mutual decision and really what I've discussed with the lad has been very clear.

"The reality is that I don't usually talk about private conversations.

"It is what it is, I don't have much to say."

Asked if the job is more difficult than what he thought it would've been, Setien believes the opposite is true.

"I am finding it easier than I thought, because many things we have spoken about are being done.

"Yesterday we had a spectacular training session - this morning I reviewed it and confirmed it.

"Obviously there are things to improve, but I am delighted to see the ability that these players have to understand things immediately.

"This is the normal process, and it will be seen [on the pitch]."
