Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has welcomed Memphis Depay for his first day of preseason training.

After passing his medical yesterday, Depay joined in training with his new Barca teammates at La Masia.

Koeman is delighted with the arrival of his former Holland striker, though warns Depay he must step up his game.

He stated, "He has made good steps. From Manchester United to Olympique Lyon, where he was captain. But Barcelona is different from Lyon.

"Barcelona is still more.

"He is of a good age and can play in different positions in the attack. He scores goals, gives assists and increases the competition among the attackers."
