Barcelona coach Koeman insists no regrets Suarez joining Atletico Madrid; explains Emerson Spurs sale

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has no regrets seeing Luis Suarez depart last summer.

Koeman oversaw the departure of Suarez for Atletico Madrid last year, which eventually saw Atleti win the LaLiga title.

"Sorry, no," Koeman replied when asked if he regretted Suarez's exit.

"I came to Barça, they signed me, to change some things in the team and we thought it would be a good positive if Luis Suárez left.

"We thought he would go to Juventus, not Atlético, but you should never regret having made a conscious decision for the good of the team and the club."

Koeman also spoke of Emerson Royal's sale to Tottenham.

He stated: "An example that I want to help the club has been the decision made with Emerson. I told the club that if it is important money that can be earned, it can be Emerson is sold because we have Dest, Mingueza and even Sergi Roberto."
