Barcelona chiefs are counting on Sergio Aguero to make his debut in October.

Sport says Aguero was injured before the Joan Gamper Trophy and since than has been working on returning to full fitness.

He was ruled out for 10 weeks and is now in the final stages of his recovery. Barça's medical team calculate that he will be ready to make his debut on October 17, when Barça host Valencia at Camp Nou.

Barça face Benfica and Atletico Madrid away from home this week before the international break. They then have two weeks off before the Valencia match.

During the break, Aguero will be able to step up his training schedule as Barça continue to get players back from injuries.
