Barcelona sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta admits Thomas Vermaelen could be forced to undergo surgery.
The former Arsenal captain has been plagued with a hamstring problem since his summer arrival.
"We are in the process of recovery. We value the decisions of our medical team and they will decide what to do.
" I do not know if Vermaelen will undergo surgery but we want the best for him," said Zubi.
