Barcelona chief Pep Segura insists there's no rush to renew Ernesto Valverde's contract.

Segura confirmed the deal includes a 12 month option.

"He has a contract of 2 + 1. When the time comes, club and coach will sit down and make the decision that is most interesting to both parties," he told Sport.

"We not spoken. We have to do it."

President Josep Maria Bartomeu has said that the deadline is spring.

Segura added: "I suppose. If the president says it, he will have spoken."

He also insisted there was "no plan B".
