Barcelona chief Guillermo Amor defended the attitude of the players after their 5-4 defeat to Levante.
Although they couldn't quite come back for a draw, the visitors made Levante sweat right to the end.
"The team has shown its character, the attitude was excellent," Amor told BeIN Sports.
"The players gave everything and I think Philippe Coutinho has put in his best performance since arriving.
"Messi is a great player who can decide any game, he can turn the scoreboard in a single moment."
Barcelona missing the chance to finish the domestic season without a defeat is a disappointment, however Amor feels as though the team deserved more on Sunday evening.
"It's a very striking result, as we were 5-1 down and reacted very well," he admitted.
"It seemed as though we were going to draw.
"The disappointment of not being unbeaten comes from the fact LaLiga was so close to being finished."
