Barcelona caretaker coach Sergi blames injuries for Celta Vigo draw

Barcelona caretaker coach Sergi says their collapse at Celta Vigo was due to injuries.

Sergi's team threw away a three goal advantage to draw 3-3.

“It's a shame not to have been able to celebrate the first away win (in La Liga)," said Sergi, “I don't want to make excuses but it's evident it all went the other way. The changes for injuries upset the structure of the team and changed the planning.

“In the second half we did not play how we wanted, we could not make good pressure and were incapable of pushing forward. Some players who came on did not know how to get into the right places. Going to war separately is difficult. We have to learn, there's no other way."

On the multiple injuries, with 11 players now out, he added: “If we had the luck of having everyone available, I'm sure we could fight for more this season. Right now we have too many injured players. We're playing with kids. It's a very strange situation, we don't know what's happening but it's an important topic going forward. Barca have a team that can compete with any team, but right now it's complicated."
