Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has quickly been impressed by Frenkie De Jong.

The Holland midfielder arrived in the summer from Ajax.

Messi has been impressed and says: "For him, it was easy to adapt to the team because he came from a philosophy similar to Ajax.

"He grew up with the same idea, the same way of playing. He adapts well. He likes to have the ball, make passes between the lines.

"He is very complete."
