Laporta says the Dutchman would remain in charge should he win the January election.
He said, “(Ronald) Koeman deserves trust, not only for his footballing wisdom, but also because he is a Barça big. With the Dream Team, Ronald made us dream and his famous goal gave us our first Champions League.
"He knows what he's doing and we have to give him time. If I like the way Ronald Koeman's Barça play? He himself recognises, and I see it too, that the team is improving, but he hasn't yet managed to do everything he's trying to put in place.
"I really appreciate his courage in betting on young people, and I see that the players have regained their motivation. Koeman has had a lot of tough times since joining and he's been careful and done some good things. This is why I say I don't want to talk about the players: anything can affect a club as big as Barça.
"That's why I also said that (Carles) Tusquets' statements were unnecessary, because they hurt the coach and the team. Koeman is getting the team he wants."
