Barcelona candidate Laporta discusses Overmars and Koeman plans

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta is coy over his plans for their sporting director.

Former Barca star Marc Overmars, currently in charge of Ajax, has been mentioned as a candidate.

But Laporta told VilaWeb: "I have three names, but I will not give them.

"I want to talk to those on the team first before choosing from the options we have. I am not going to name players, coaches or other candidates for the coaching staff. It is too early to go there.

"We should not disturb the team. I have been chairman before and I know that speculation can destabilise the team."

On coach Ronald Koeman, Laporta added: "Like any coach, Koeman will get time to be judged on the results and the way his team plays of late."

Laporta, however, did not go deeply into the question of whether the club's game has become boring: "No, not at all. Barça always has something special."
