Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font admits they've made a move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
Font also insists he has spoken with Barca coach Ronald Koeman about the prospect of signing Manchester City defender Eric Garcia this month.
He revealed to El Transistor: “Our sports structure likes Eric Garcia and also David Alaba. We have talked to many players.
"My position was to listen to Koeman, who has a need, and renegotiate with City for Eric. I know that the club had not yet spoken to City since Saturday.
"It is an important case because (Gerard) Piqué is injured and (Samuel) Umtiti has physical problems. We explained the project to David Alaba's representative.
"We cannot try to sign (Kylian) Mbappé or (Erling) Haaland because there is no money, but tracking the market must be done and there are alternatives. I know that he has not signed with anyone and the father has confirmed it."
