Barcelona B coach Sergi retains hope of Ilaix Moriba signing a new contract.

The midfielder, with his deal having less than 12 months to run, is in contract dispute with the board. As such, Iaix has been ordered to train with Sergi's B team.

The new coach told Sport: "It is a very special case. To help the first team, we take him on. I've talked to him, he's looking forward to training, which is important. It would be very different if in the end he created a bit of a bad atmosphere for you.

"He knows all the players, they are his age, he gets along very well with them and I have asked him to demand of himself for his future, he cannot stop training, nor mentally block himself.

"I imagine that he ends up signing, that we hope he will, and the training pace is different from that of the first team. That would hurt him. And he is feeling it."
