Barcelona B coach Javi Garcia Pimienta says they must secure Ilaix Moriba to a new contract.

The midfielder is now inside the final 12 months of his current deal.

Garcia Pimienta stated: "If Ilaix Moriba could be taken away? No no.

"I think we have to make an effort for the players who have the profile of the first team. As a club, we must put in the means so that the player is happy. On a contractual level, but also on a sporting level.

"He is a player called to mark an era within the club."
