Barcelona announce injury blows for Dutch pair Depay and De Jong

Barcelona have announced hamstring injuries for Dutch pair Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong.

Depay and De Jong underwent medical tests on Monday, when Barcelona confirmed that both players suffer from hamstring injuries.

The two Dutchmen were not the only Barcelona players to have picked up knocks during this international break, as Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo were forced to withdraw from the France and Uruguay squads, respectively, through injuries.

Barcelona confirmed through a statement published on their website that De Jong has an elongation of the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh and Memphis has an injury to the biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh.

The Catalans made clear that neither of the two players are available for selection, stressing that their recoveries will dictate their return to action.
