Barcelona announce Braithwaite surgery success

Barcelona have announced Martin Braithwaite's surgery on his left knee on Thursday was a success.

The striker suffered the injury in the Blaugrana's third match of the season against Getafe.

Despite not having confirmed how long Braithwaite will be out of action for, Barcelona originally estimated that he would spend three to four months away from the pitch.

Now, following the surgery, the Catalan club will make an assessment regarding how long Braithwaite will be on the sidelines.

The Danish international has joined the long list of injured Barcelona forwards, with Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero all currently unavailable for selection.
