Barcelona are confident securing Sergi Roberto to a new deal.

Sport says Roberto's contract renewal with Barcelona has been set back but both sides are still calm. The announcement seemed imminent but there were some discrepancies and they started again.

Barca president Joan Laporta says there are only a few small points to agree on and the club have been focusing on other negotiations like Pedri and Ansu Fati. The player's people are not nervous about the wait.

“Barca haven't asked us for a meeting and we have not asked for one," a player source has stated.

The feeling is that the renewal will happen even if not right away. He'll accept a pay cut and a substantial deferral on his current deal and Barca propose he stays until 2024.
