Barcelona and Frenkie de Jong remain at loggerheads

Barcelona management remain at loggerheads with Frenkie de Jong.

Barca accepted an offer from Manchester United, while they also held talks with Chelsea over the summer, but De Jong refused to leave.

Cadena SER says Barca remain determined for De Jong to accept a cut on his current wages. President Joan Laporta has told the player he wants him to return to his old salary before signing his current contract extension.

For his part, the player has intimated a willingness to renegotiate.

Laporta wants De Jong to accept the proposal before the end of the season, so Barca can work the summer market without limitations.
