​Barcelona agree Chinese media partnership

Barcelona have signed a strategic partnership with direct-to-consumer (DTC) media company iQiyi Sports to develop the club's first dedicated and fully digital channel in China, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The iQiyi Sports over-the-top (OTT) business, which is majority owned by La Liga's Chinese broadcast partner Super Sports Media, will collaborate with the Catalan club to build The FC Barcelona Official Channel during the 2020/21 season.

As the first La Liga club to launch a channel on the iQiyi Sports platform, Barҫa will deliver exclusive and non-exclusive video content to their fans in China, including behind-the-scenes footage and coverage of training sessions, as well as player challenges and interviews.
