Barcelona ace Luis Suarez reveals renewal clause in deal

Barcelona ace Luis Suarez has revealed his contract carries an automatic renewal clause.

Suarez's current deal with the Blaugrana ends in June 2021, however he could see that extend to June 22 if he plays at least 60 percent of the matches he is available for in the 2020/21 season.

"There is the option that next year if I play 60 percent of the games I'm available for, I renew," Suarez explained in an interview with RAC1.

"I am happy here and my family is too.

"I'm where I always wanted to be and I feel useful, but the decision has to come from the club, I want to stay here but that doesn't depend on me."

When pressed on the severity of his knee ailment, the former Ajax goalscorer made clear that it had been something which had bothered him for far longer than people realised.

"I was playing because I was used to playing with pain," he added.

"In the right knee I had cartilage problems, I also had a meniscal cyst.

"This causes you to put force on other areas of the knee and everything comes together causing you more problems, I'm determined to be fit again."
