Barca deflated as Klopp confirms Coutinho staying at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed there are no plans to sell Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho has grown into one of Liverpool's key figures this season. The diminutive Brazilian has managed 10 goals and 6 assists in what are his best figures since moving to Anfield from Inter Milan in 2013.

When questioned over interest in the 24-year old, Klopp said: "There are absolutely no plans [to sell].

"What our owners say is there is the absolute opportunity not to sell anybody if we do not want to.

"That means we can bring in other players and it is a good situation. We have a stable squad with a good basis.

"We want to bring a few in with fresh blood, but nobody will leave us without our say so I am completely relaxed about this."

Coutinho's new deal at Liverpool, which he signed in January, extends to 2022.
