Michael Ballack believes Chelsea fans will understand manager Guus Hiddink resting players for their looming London derby against Fulham.

"We know where our focus is, it is the Champions League. It is difficult for us to go on top in the league, we are looking for third or second place, so maybe we can take an advantage into Barcelona," he told chelseafc.com.

"I think every fan would understand if he rested players, I don't know but whatever the decision of the coach, everyone would understand why and we will see."
