AS Roma director general Mauro Baldissoni admits the launch of their new stadium has been two years in the making.
The club recently revealed plans to develop a new stadium, to be built in time for the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
"This is a project that I have worked on for two years, we have selected the area, with over 200 areas inspected for construction.
"Is there a tight schedule for construction? We have to deal with large projects in this spirit. I would not like the timing of Italian bureaucracy to be an excuse for our failure.
"We know that there is a minimum of two years needed and we want to stick to two years. The first excavations for the stadium should be in December 2014 and January 2015."
