The Italian started the season strongly, but the past three months have exposed his tactics and gameplan with the Blues squad.
Chelsea are hanging on in the race for the top four, but a run of poor results have turned fans and pundits against Sarri.
And Italian reports suggest that Sarri could have an offer from Franco Baldini at Roma.
The former England assistant coach is said to have offered Sarri the job in Rome for next season when the pair met, along with club president Jim Pallotta, for dinner in London last week.
While Sarri is not expected to be sacked by Chelsea in the middle of the season, an end of season departure does seem inevitable
