Azpilicueta added to manager Frank Lampard's praise for the 21-year-old striker.
He told chelseafc.com: "I am very happy for him. We know that to be no.9 at Chelsea is not an easy task but Tammy is a boy who dreamt to be in the team since he was very little. He went through the Academy and had an amazing spell last season at Aston Villa.
"Since he was back for pre-season this year he has been amazing, not only his goals but his work and way to improve, always ready to listen to everyone and to get the step forward.
"I am very happy because I think these two goals will give him a lot of confidence. He is a very strong boy and I am very happy with him and hopefully he can score many more."
