AZ fullback Poulsen: Van Gaal will demand perfection from Man Utd

AZ Alkmaar fullback Simon Poulsen says Louis van Gaal won't be afraid of knocking chips off the shoulders of Manchester United players.

Poulsen wrote in the Telegraph: " If Louis van Gaal ends up as the new Manchester United manager, the players should understand that, under him, nothing less than perfection will do.

"Every ball has to be precise, every tackle well made, every decision thought-through. He is demanding and he constantly tries to get the maximum out of his players, pushing them to meet his very high standards.

"If those standards are not met, he will let you know about them. He is strict, but that is only because he wants to improve you as a player and, as a result, the team as well. Ultimately, he will make you better if you listen to him.

"I played for him for a season and a half at AZ Alkmaar and we won the title, which was a big achievement as we are a long way from being the biggest club in Holland."
