AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Maher has previously emerged on the radar of Manchester City according to his father.
The 18-year old is beginning to impress with his performances in the Dutch Eredivisie but could have already been at a bigger European club says Ider Maher.
The Holland U19 international has already attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, City, AC Milan and Lyon but his father says it is too early in his career to make such a quantum leap.
"He could have joined AC Milan, Manchester City or Olympique Lyonnais a few years ago," Ider Maher told De Telegraaf.
"It was too early for a move abroad, though - and it still is. Adam is still too young for such a big step. There's plenty of time to leave in three or four years' time."
