AZ Alkmaar captain Teun Koopmeiners is interesting Everton.

The Sun says Toffees' director of football Marcel Brands is said to be a big fan of Koopmeiners, who has been an important part of the team who were giving Ajax a run for their money in the Dutch league this season.

AZ Alkmaar were level on points with Ajax at the top before the Eredivisie was scrapped, only behind on goal difference.

The 22-year-old has also been a permanent fixture in the Netherlands Under-21 team.

He played 42 games for AZ Alkmaar this season, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists.
