Olympique Marseille have jumped into the race for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon.
After a successful loan with Newcastle United last season, Rondon aims to leave his Championship club this summer.
Newcastle were favourites to sign the Venezuela international, but the club's takeover talks have stalled negotiations.
The situation has opened the door to rival bidders and La Provence says OM have joined the race.
And key to the deal is new OM coach Andre Villas-Boas, who worked for 18 months with Rondon as Zenit St Petersburg manager.
