The chief of the Australian Olympic Committee, John Coates, has urged Football Federation Australia to move on positively with their 2022 World Cup bid.
FFA have been criticised for attempting to 'bribe' people in high places and spending plenty of money on consultants but have since been cleared by the Australian government.
Now Coates believes it is time to really get the bid underway to bring the world game down under.
"They have been working closely with the government. The government has confirmed they have been operating totally within the rules," Coates told INSIDER.
"My position is that it is time for Australia to get behind them and fully support the bid."
Coates was one of the main men behind the Sydney 2000 Olympics and despite criticism says the Australian World Cup bid should go ahead in a positive fashion.
"We had a similar experience coming into Sydney, he said. "We will move forward now. We are giving this [the 2022 bid] our best shot," he added.
