Socceroos midfielder Carl Valeri said the team missed the control and experience of Brett Emerton in last night's draw with Japan. Valeri, who plays in Italy with Grosseto told 442, "All the players did a great job out there tonight but players like Emmo, you're going to miss. And I think everyone thinks that in the team.

"He's a great player and I think everyone and I'm sorry it had to happen [his injury]. Six months is a long time to be out.

"But he's a very fit person and one of the best professionals and I know he'll come back."
