Dylan McGowan is eager to prove his worth by winning a long-term deal with Heart of Midlothian.
The 21-year old Australian has signed a one-year contract extension with the Jambos along with midfielder Callum Tapping and is now looking to build on a decent season individually and become a first-choice player under Gary Locke.
"I'll be here next year, which is great. It wasn't a case of me signing, as such, it's a contract which rolls on. The uncertainty plays on your mind a little bit but I'm over the moon to be staying here," said the defender.
"Hopefully, I can have a better season next year and prove that I should be here a little bit longer again. I'm looking forward to pushing on, getting some more games and proving my worth at this football club."
McGowan has made 18 appearances in the SPL this season as well as three in the League Cup for the Tynecastle side.
