Aussie trio join Blackburn takeover battle

Blackburn Rovers could come under control of three Australians.

The News of the World says three Australian tycoons have bid £25million to take control of Blackburn.

The bid has been lodged with investment bank Rothschilds, alongside two other offers from Bahrain-based billionaire Ahasan Al-Syed and Indian businessman Saurin Shah.

All interested parties have signed non-disclosure agreements and the consortium from Down Under are keen to keep their identities a secret.

The Aussie investors are waiting for Syed to finish looking at Rovers' trade accounts but have also carried out their own research into the club's financial state.

They believe they can complete a successful takeover and then continue to run the club sustainably.
